JOVELIO - MEANING OF NAME

In Search of the Inspiration

Whether the pregnancy brain or having a toddler around, I must admit looking for our second son's name was more challenging than the first one.  With Ravelio, we found the name by the 20th week of the pregnancy.  However, this time around, it was not till the 37th week.  Phew!

Our initial train of thought was to build up on big brother's name Ravelio Lunardi which means "light".  We thought, "Hmm, after the 'light' then there is the 'ocean', then the 'sky', etc etc."  You know, we were just being "over-prepared" in case God blesses us with more than two kids (wink wink!!!).  But then Marcel brought up a REALLY good point that if we were to continue on that path, it won't be funny to name our kids 'bird', 'fish', and other living creatures.  So, the Creation Story we are NOT.

All joking aside, we decided to name our second son after something that goes together with his big brother's name.  You know ... like Peanut Butter & Jelly, Batman & Robin, Yin & Yang, Salt & Pepper, Tom & Jerry, you got the idea!  The idea is that when we think of Ravelio, we'll think of his little brother.  They're inseparable!

Since Ravelio is the light that shines, the little brother is the glory that rises.

Meaning

Jovelio (read: joe-ve-lee-yo): from yovel that means "glory"
Alvari (read: al-vuh-ree): from alvah that means "rising"
Prasetya: from setia which means "loyal" or "faithful"

Our prayer is that Jovelio will be rooted in the word of God; and that he will continue to bring praise to God so that God's glory will rise up on his life and the life of his generation.
