UNDER HIS PROTECTION

Travelling without Marcel is never fun.  Spending the time away when I could have spent it better with my loved one is never for me.  I had to drag myself to the airport this past Monday.

Four days into the trip, I have been overwhelmed by how much God has protected and accompanied me during this trip.  I am sure He knows that I am not a fan of this travelling thing and would rather be home with Marcel.  So He delivers His angels around me to make my time away less painful.

Monday -- My roomate at the Corporate Housing cooked me dinner after my long flights and late night meetings.  She even accompanied me for dinner.  And guess what, I just met her 2 hours before that.

Tuesday -- My teammate invited me over to her house for a family dinner.  She even taught and made me my new favorite dessert - Blueberry Cobbler.  What a nice treat after a long day of work.

Wednesday -- Another major thunder storm came our way last night.  The rain drops felt really heavy and were hammering the glass ceiling right above my bed.  I was so afraid that the glass might break because of the heavy rain and thunder.  I prayed for a great night sleep.  And soon enough, I fell back asleep.  The next thing I knew, it's already morning.  And the glass ceiling was still intact.

Thursday -- I had to carry my luggage to take the train to the city and walk to the meeting site.  The luggage was heavier than it normally would be because of the meeting materials.  My coworker helped me with my luggage from the train stop to the station where I could finally pull it.  Not only that we did not miss the meeting ... I was not sweating or smelling bad for the meeting.  :-)  I was ready for it.

And when I checked in to the hotel today, turned out they did not have the correct reservation date for me.  The receptionist told me that they are fully booked tonight and may not have an extra room for me.  After waiting for awhile, finally she got me a room.  Yayy, it feels so good to be able to rest comfortably tonight.

It may be as simple as a little dinner company, dinner invitation, getting a good rest, getting helped, or even getting a room to sleep.  It may not cost or may cost a little for my coworkers and receptionist.  But their act of help had eased my time away from Marcel.  And I believe they are angels sent as my deliverance.

If it does not cost you a penny ... or if it costs you a little, would you be someone's angel today?  You may be in the perfect time and place.  And your little act of help may end up being a great help for someone else.

Through this trip, I am again reminded of 1 Corinthians 10:13.

"No [challenge] has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to [struggle] beyond what you are able, but with the [challenges] will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it."

May this be a blessing!  And I can't wait for tomorrow.

I DID WHAT THIS MORNING?

Babe, I can't help it.  I woke up this morning with butterflies in my stomach.  I wondered why.  The feeling was so familiar.  Oh uh oh uh ... I think I knew it.  I just fell in love AGAIN.  For the so many times.  With the same gentleman.  And it was, has been, and is YOU AGAIN.

Happy anniversary, Hubby Marcel.  I never regret forcing myself to wake up from a jet-lag 10 years ago.  Just to later find out that I was about to meet the love of my life in the living room.  I never regret saying I DO four years ago because God whispered to me that you are the one for me.  I love you, Babe.

Ten years ago

  • I opened my first email account ever (you teased me by saying that I came from BC time haha)
  • I called "cow" as "beef" because my english was poorer than now (thank God I still passed my TOEFL regardless; we called that, "Consistency counts!!!"  HAHA)
  • You pushed dim sum carts on weekends to have extra money to take me on mini dates without asking your parents (such a responsible young man)
  • We rode bus to and from school together
  • And most importantly ... we still used FILM camera.  Oh how I miss the Fuji 24 vs. 36 exposures we used to have.  :-)  And how every snap was so important ... and how irritated we were when our friends messed with us when taking pictures ... like THESE!!!

Take 1
Take 2
Take 3 ... Finally!!  Aww, we looked funny and young back then
Ten years later:
  • Google+ is the better networking site than Facebook; and guess what, I am on Google+ too and loving it so much.  After all, this girl from BC has been geek-ized by the geeky hubby
  • We ride bikes together during our spare time (GO GREEN)
  • We are inseparable like those famous duos: Jack and Jill; Romeo and Juliet; Mickey and Minnie; Donald and Daisy; Adam and Eve; Mom and Dad; Starsky and Hutch; Batman and Robin; Tom and Jerry; Salt and Pepper; Peanut Butter and Jelly; Mac and Cheese; Spaghetti and Meatballs; Bacon and Egg ... (OK I think I am hungry now)
  • BUT, most importantly is that we now have DIGITAL camera.  We said adios to film camera several years back (u-hemm, 2007 ... making it really small so those with bad vision can't see and tease us.  I know we gave it up so late compared to other people)

Happy Anniversary again, Baby.  Cheers to us.  Praise to the Lord.
