FINALLY ... THE TRAVEL DOCS ARE HERE

So I shared with you last month that we had to cancel our New Zealand trip.  This was supposed to be our anniversary trip in July.  After rescheduling it 3 times, we still couldn't go because our travel documents had not arrived and our New Zealand visas finally expired.  So we canceled altogether.  We're sad ... but hopeful for a replacement getaway.

We submitted our travel doc renewal applications in May.  Normally it didn't take long.  We later learned that they changed the system; thus tripling the processing time.  So FINALLY, after 5 months of waiting, our travel documents have arrived. Yayyyyyyyyyyyy.

At this point in the year, we are no longer in the mood for an international trip anymore.  If God allows, we hope we can do one next year to take advantage of our travel docs LOL.

On the much much much happier note, I think there's a chance that Marcel and I will be celebrating Christmas, New Year, Chinese New Year, and Mom's birthday with my parents here.  Yayyyyyyyyyyyy.  Prayerful that they can get the tickets.

My mom has heard "the rumor" from my mother in law that I can cook now.  However, my mom is in denial.  She keeps on telling everyone back home that she doesn't believe I can cook.  She says, "Anaknya Selamet mana mungkin ada yang bisa masak?  Wong mamanya aja ga bisa masak koq!"  (English: "How can Selamet's - my dad - daughter cook if her mom cannot cook?"  Well, we'll see, Mom.  I don't think we can afford to eat out everyday while you're here.  Can't cook anything fancy.  But can't wait to cook for you.

To give a preview for my local friends, here are some photos of my mom from our trip last year.  Twenty-five is the new sixty-five!!!!  Do you know that?  When you see her, ask her what her favorite ride is.  She'll go on and on to tell you the stories about that.

Taking a ride with Marcel.  She teased me and dad for not having the guts to ride with her.
I took the next challenge; but you could tell they had more fun than I did.
