I heard this story from an online story teller. It's very inspirational.
This story is about an old grandma. Everyday, this grandma travels down the hill to get some water. She uses a pole with a bucket hanging on each end. While one bucket is in a perfect condition, the other bucket is cracked. For many years, the grandma can only take home a bucket and a half because half of the water in the cracked bucket would pour out along the way before she makes it home.
As the perfect bucket feels happy to have helped grandma carry the whole load, the cracked bucket is sad. The cracked bucket tells grandma to find a new bucket to replace it.
Having heard the cracked bucket's disappointment, grandma took the cracked bucket to the path she normally takes to get to the river from her home. She shows the cracked bucket the beautiful flowers that grow along the path.
Grandma tells the cracked bucket that she knows about the cracked bucket's flaw. However, instead of giving up on the situation, she has been taking advantage of that. She planted seeds along the path. Thus, as she carries the cracked bucket each day, the water that pours out of it will water the seeds. In turn, these seeds have grown into beautiful flowers for her to take home and sell each day. If it isn't because of the cracked bucket, the grandma wouldn't have had such a wonderful journey collecting water.
The moral of the story is that everyone has flaws. It is the imperfectness that makes each one of us unique.
Remember that all of us are cracked buckets. However, our God can miraculously turn this imperfectness into a wonderful blessing to others through us. Nothing will be wasted in God's hands.
"The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I [Jesus] have come that they may have life, and have it to the full." -- John 10:10
May this be a blessing!!!
