CONTINUOUS DISCOVERY

I think living is about discovering. Often time, we try to discover things that we had no prior exposure to. Lately, I learned that I can always discover new things about people who have been in our lives for years. I'm talking about my hubby Marcel. :-)

For the 2 full months of April and May, Marcel was having to pull endless long weeknights to finish up his project. The last 3 weeks in May was even worse that he ended up working from 6AM to 2AM each day without weekends or holidays. These long nights could definitely lead into huge tiredness for Marcel and loneliness for me. But I'm glad that God could redeem not only our sins, but also our situation.

For me, I am surrounded with loving and caring friends and friends' kids. They kept me well accompanied with nice emails, phone calls, dinners, movies, swimming, and Small Group activities.

Not only that, I am forever grateful for Marcel too. Growing up, it is not my family's tradition to consider working as an act of service and gratitude to God; it's rather an obligation. I often hear that women are born with the nature to love their family. Whereas for men, they are born with the involuntary responsibility to provide for the family. Men didn't choose to be born to provide. It is undeniably hard for sure. A great and everlasting responsibility I should say.

Marcel is a very growing Christian -- this what sets him apart from the root of my family. He understand that his attitude at and about working matters most. Plus, Marcel loves his job so much. I know when he pulled all those long nights, he must have had a day with broken codes, messed up meal schedule, etc. However, when he came home at 2AM, he still managed to pull a smile on his face, asked how my day went, told me about his day, had some Nutella mochi I made for him to snack on (sugar helps, People, hahaha), and talked till we fell asleep till morning. So for me it's a beautiful experience to have husband that can bring that positive energy into the home regardless of his day at work. It really helped the 2 months to fly faster.

Finally, his company introduced the new product that he's been working on these past 2 months on May 28, 2009. It is a huge relief for the success and positive acceptance from the people. As my treat for him for working so hard, I bought him a pack of Chocolate Ferrero Roche. It comes in 16 pieces. I stick an individual note on each piece. The notes may contain my prayer for, my thanksgiving for, or my I'd-do-this-for-you item. I told him to eat only one each day because each note expires at midnight. But Marcel is too curious that he ended up opening 2 each day.

It has been almost 2 weeks now that Marcel has been back to his normal schedule. It also has been 2 months since we moved to the new apartment. We have been doing our normal activities and even more activities together to embrace the moments before the next deadline comes. At the end of this 2-month period, I discover that:

- Marcel likes to have his carpet vaccuumed in neat and ordered grids. I don't mind the grid as long as it's clean :-)
- Marcel likes to have his KFC with double cole slaw. No Mac-and-cheese for him.
- Marcel is very sensitive to chocolate smell and existance. No matter how and where I tried to hide it, he'd find it before you know it. :-)
- Marcel likes to have his cold drink mixed with Marjan Cocopandan syrup -- not ABC Cocopandan syrup.
- Marcel likes his sunny side up eggs served with Bango Sweet Soy Sauce -- not ABC Sweet Soy Sauce.
- When all else fails, 3 tbs of Nutella will cheer him up faster than a head massage.

God has blessed you with that special other. Don't take that person for granted! Keep your eyes open and you will be surprised of how many new interesting things you will find about that person.

May this be a blessing to you!
